  • Gender Equality Plan

    Gender Equality Plan

The European Commission is committed to promoting gender equality in research and innovation. Considering the existing inequalities, the European Commission has developed a Gender Equality Strategy. This strategy has resulted in:

    • the introduction of a requirement for entities applying for Horizon 2020 funding to have a Gender Equality Plan,
    • setting rigid priorities in the composition of decision-making groups responsible for funding,
    • honouring scientific projects that pay particular attention to enhancing the role of women.

    Gender Equality Plan

The Gender Equality Plan for the Centre for Theoretical Physics PAS (GEP) was prepared based on consultations and surveys conducted between 2015 and 2022. Statistics were collected from the Integrated Information Network for Science and Higher Education system, reports sent to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and activity reports adopted annually by the Scientific Council of the Centre for Theoretical Physics PAS. Many of the analyses were linked to the preparation of the institute to apply for the 'HR Award'.

  • HR Excellence in Research

    HR Excellence in Research

In 2005 the European Commission issued two documents, the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The European Charter for Researchers contains the rights and obligations to which researchers and their employing institutions are subject. The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, on the other hand, describes the principles for recruiting researchers that employer institutions should follow, ensuring equal treatment of applicants, quality and transparency in recruitment.

The Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences has decided to follow the standards outlined in both documents. Many of these principles have already been implemented at the institute and have become standard practice. Efforts are being made to ensure that all the principles are applied in our institute.

The next step is to obtain the HR Excellence in Research distinction, which the Center for Theoretical Physics PAS is currently applying for.

Documents that have been prepared for the application for HR Excellence in Research:

Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers

On 31.05.2022. The Center for Theoretical Physics has introduced a Gender Equality Plan for the period 2022-2025.

Surveys used for the Gap Analysis

Surveys in CTP PAS are being prepared using Google Forms and the polls system. Survey prepared in 2022 in connection with the efforts for HR recognition.

In preparing the application for the HR Logo and creating the Gender Equality Plan, a survey was developed to examine the opinions of employees.

    Survey preparation committee:

    • dr hab. Krzysztof Pawlowski (Deputy Director for Academic Affairs. Scientific),
    • dr hab. Remigiusz Augusiak (R3),
    • dr hab. Wojciech Hellwing (R3),

    Survey

Survey prepared in 2021 in connection with preparation of Welcome to Poland grant application.

Center for Theoretical Physics PAN is actively seeking externally funded projects. In addition to research projects, projects aimed at the development of the institute have been applied for, including Promotion Foreign and Welcome to Poland organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange. A survey with the results is presented below. The survey was largely concerned with the admission of new employees.
